Generation Gap

Nada (means hope in Serbian) is selling flowers on the streets of Belgrade to support her grand children's education. She picks fresh flowers in the nearby forest and takes the bus to the city everyday hoping to make a sale. I've noticed her from across the street standing on corner in her red shoes. She was holding her flowers very gently while whispering sales pitches to the passers by. After few shots I've approached her and asked if I could take a closeup portrait. Nada is Serbia. One of my aunt's (pokojna) name was Nada.. Tetka Nada.. She did not sell flowers on the street, though.
I miss my "yugoslavian" roots and I come here to look at your pictures once in a while to feel a little closer to them.. and all it happens is that I miss it even more! But it's ok..
